Driving the transfer of artificial intelligence to business

The event, organised by the University of the Balearic Islands' Artificial Intelligence Applications Laboratory (LAIA@UIB), brought researchers and companies together to encourage collaboration on developing applications based on artificial intelligence.

At REM Experience we believe in technology as a driver of change, which is why we took part in JAIA2024+, the third networking event on transferring artificial intelligence applications to business and society in the Balearic Islands, organised by the UIB's Artificial Intelligence Applications Laboratory (LAIA@UIB).

Held in Santa Maria del Camí, the event was a key meeting point between researchers and representatives of the Balearic business community, with the aim of exploring new opportunities to apply AI across different sectors. Thirty representatives of companies and institutions from the Balearic Islands took part, establishing it as a benchmark forum for innovation and knowledge transfer.

During the event, LAIA@UIB presented the progress it made in 2024, highlighting its work on language models for local and closed environments, an area of growing interest for businesses. The results achieved to date were also reviewed, and the attendees discussed possible collaborations between the laboratory and their companies.

For REM Experience, events like this are essential to keep exploring new ways of integrating artificial intelligence into our extended reality solutions, 3D simulators and interactive experiences. AI is transforming the way we interact with technology, and our participation in JAIA2024+ reaffirms our commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer.

We thank the LAIA@UIB team for creating this space for connection and learning, which helps us keep moving forward in applying artificial intelligence to business and society.
