La Vall d'Uixó · Museum design with immersive technology
We turned the Fàbrica de la Llum in La Vall d'Uixó into a museum using augmented reality, 3D modelling, interactive apps, accessible content and immersive experiences to interpret and share its heritage.
Digital museum design with immersive technology turns heritage sites into experiences that are more accessible, interactive and engaging for every kind of audience. At REM Experience we designed the museum experience at the Fàbrica de la Llum in La Vall d'Uixó, combining augmented reality, 3D modelling, mobile apps, interactive content, educational games and audiovisual solutions to bring the town's history and heritage to life in an innovative way.
The project starts from a former industrial building converted into a cultural facility and creates a complete museum experience in which physical and digital content complement each other throughout the visit.
Augmented reality applied to museum design
One of the project's main technological resources is augmented reality applied to heritage and museum spaces.
The interpretive signage includes QR codes that open digital content and launch augmented reality experiences on mobile devices.
With this technology, visitors can discover reconstructions, digitised archaeological pieces and content that expands on the information in the room, without adding large numbers of physical elements.
The experience also includes 3D models of archaeological objects found in La Vall d'Uixó, which can be viewed in augmented reality, so visitors can look at them from different angles and better understand their features.
An Iberian house recreated at full scale
One of the centrepieces of the museum design is the digital reconstruction of an Iberian house linked to a local settlement.
The 3D modelling and reconstruction work produced a virtual representation that can be viewed in augmented reality at real scale inside the museum space itself.
Visitors can thus understand the size, architecture, layout and features of a historic building that can no longer be seen physically in its original state.
This kind of virtual heritage reconstruction turns archaeological and historical information into a far more intuitive and understandable visual experience.

Mobile app, accessibility and educational games
The experience is completed by a mobile app for museums and heritage that brings together all the digital content of the visit.
The app provides audio narration of the texts, helping to make the experience more accessible and allowing different types of users to access the information more comfortably.
It also includes educational games related to archaeology and augmented reality, adding a playful dimension that is particularly suited to families and school groups.
In this way, technology does more than add visual spectacle: it supports understanding, participation and learning.
The history of La Vall d'Uixó through 3D and artificial intelligence
Another of the project's main pieces is an audiovisual representation of the historical evolution of La Vall d'Uixó, from its origins to the present day.
It combines 3D modelling, historical reconstruction, archive images and AI-assisted photo processing.
Contemporary images are woven into a visual narrative that culminates in a large-format projection on one of the walls of the old factory, one of the most striking moments of the museum visit.
This combination of 3D, artificial intelligence and immersive audiovisual production shows how the town has changed over time in an emotional, visual and easy-to-understand way.
Interactive map and multilingual content
The museum design also includes an interactive screen with a map of La Vall d'Uixó, where visitors can explore different places in the town through hotspots.
Each point opens photographs, explanatory texts and audio narration in several languages, extending the experience beyond the museum and connecting the exhibition space with the surrounding area.
At REM Experience we develop interactive digital museum design projects, augmented reality for museums, 3D historical reconstruction, interactive apps, immersive experiences and heritage digitisation.
The Fàbrica de la Llum in La Vall d'Uixó shows how these technologies can be combined in a single project to create a complete, accessible and interactive cultural experience that connects archaeology, heritage, history, education and technology in one visit.
